Doris Wong K0BEE from the El Dorado County Amateur Radio Club will share her observations and experiences as a field operater supporting animal control officers with animal rescue and welfare checks in evacuated neighborhoods. Doris will share the important role amateur radio operators played to help with emergency communications to keep animal control officers safe, especially in areas with poor or no cell coverage. The presentaton will include what the community can do before, during, and after evacuating if a fire occurs and if they have animals left behind and what they can do to make the process easier for rescue workers to come in to find their home and feed or evacuate their animals.
