CERA's Ochum Neighborhood Radio Watch group, serving rural El Dorado County residents in the Cosumnes and Oak Hill communities, will hold its 2nd annual BBQ meet-and-greet in Pioneer Park (6740 Fairplay Rd, Somerset, CA). While many Ochum NRW members know each other's voices from the weekly Tuesday 6:30 PM radio safety net, this BBQ offers a relaxed setting to build stronger face-to-face relationships.

Living amidst the beauty of abundant trees and hills in this area can present communication challenges, particularly during natural disasters when cell and internet services are unreliable. This BBQ is a fantastic opportunity to share stories, exchange community preparedness and safety advice, and reinforce the importance of radios as our reliable backup communication system. Let's strengthen the bonds of our resilient network, ensuring we can support each other when emergencies arise.

This year's BBQ will feature delicious burgers, hot dogs, refreshing drinks. Attendees, please bring a side to share (6 servings).

• Radio communication during fires and evacuations
• Important upcoming changes to NRW member radios
